Rhodes Airport at a glance
Rhodes Airport "Diagoras", code RHO, is the island's airport. The airport operator lists the terminal as open daily from 00:00 to 23:59. That is the building's operating time, not a bus timetable, so do not use it to plan your onward trip.
There are three ways to leave the airport: the public bus, a taxi or a hire car. The island has a bus network run by RODA for the city and by KTEL for longer routes. Nothing on this page replaces the current timetable, which you should look up before you travel.

Getting from Rhodes Airport: your options
What is confirmed for each option and what you still need to check.

| Car hire | Rental firms are listed on the airport website | Deposit, card type, driver age and licence rules |
| Long-distance bus (KTEL) | Has its own schedule and ticket service | Departure times on the current timetable |

Bus from the airport to Rhodes Town
The airport confirms a direct bus connection to Rhodes Town. The stop is between the old and the new terminal. The airport points to RODA, the city bus operator, and to the municipality for details. It is not a KTEL service, so do not look for it in the long-distance schedule.
The airport page gives no fares or departure times. For information call RODA on +30 22410 26300 or +30 22410 24129. Ask about fares, the first and last departure and how long the ride takes on the day you arrive.
A summer 2026 timetable (6 July to 10 September) listed a seasonal direct line, number 25, from the airport to Faliraki at €3.50, and Rhodes Town to Lindos at €6. That window has ended, so use the figures only as a rough guide and check the current timetable before you go.

Taxi at Rhodes Airport
The taxi stand is in front of arrivals at T1. The airport operator does not quote a price, and we cannot confirm a fixed tariff for 2026. Ask the driver about the fare before you get in, and ask whether any night surcharge applies. If you arrive late or with luggage, a taxi is the simple choice.
Car hire at Rhodes Airport
The airport website lists the hire firms. Conditions differ by company: deposit, whether they accept credit or debit cards, the minimum age and the driving licence rules. Read the terms of your own booking and do not assume what applies to another firm.
A car makes sense if you plan to visit places such as Lindos or the beaches in our beaches guide at your own pace. According to the national heritage portal, Lindos is about an hour's drive from Rhodes Town. Add the airport transfer and parking time on top.
Long-distance buses and KTEL
KTEL, the long-distance bus company, has its own schedule and ticket service. The online timetable is a PDF viewer, so check it carefully for your date. For orientation, the national tourism organisation gives Rhodes to Lindos as 50 km and about 1 hour 40 minutes from the central bus station. Treat that as a guide only, as it is not a dated timetable.
Roadworks at the New Market
A current change that affects bus stops in Rhodes Town.
Since 11 September 2026
Building work at the New Market (Nea Agora) means fencing and stopping and parking bans around the site.
Averof Street
Between Papagou and Gallias streets the boarding and drop-off area for RODA and KTEL buses has changed.
How long
The planned duration is three months. Look for signs on the day and ask at the stop where to board.
Rhodes transfers: choosing between bus, taxi and car
Rhodes transfers from the airport come down to four options: the public bus, a taxi, a hire car or a long-distance KTEL bus. The table above shows what is confirmed for each. Rhodes Town, Lindos and Faliraki lie in different directions, so choose your base before you choose the transfer.
Rhodes airport transfers by taxi or bus
For Rhodes airport transfers late at night or with heavy luggage, the taxi stand at T1 is the simple choice. The public bus is the other direct way to Rhodes Town, once you have checked the current timetable.
Faliraki airport: from RHO to Faliraki
Faliraki has no airport of its own, and flights land at Rhodes Airport (RHO). A summer 2026 timetable listed a seasonal direct line, number 25, from the airport to Faliraki, but that window has ended. Ask RODA about the current connection, or see the Faliraki guide for the resort itself.
Planning your arrival day
A few things to settle before you fly.
Know your first stop
Rhodes Town, Lindos and Faliraki lie in different directions. Pick your base first, then the transfer. See where to stay.
Late arrival
The terminal is open round the clock, but that does not tell you when buses run. If you land late, arrange a taxi or a hire car.
Sea trips from the city
Ferries to Symi leave from Rhodes Town. One listed sailing took 80 minutes, and fares and times change by date, so read our Symi guide before you book.
Buses in town
Allow extra time in the city while the roadworks at the New Market last. Ask where your bus stops.
